Katie and Sarah have new quilts for their beds. The pattern was "Turning Twenty". Don't you love the fun print on this fabric? Its "My Sister and Me" by Moda
Claire turned 1 this week. We went to Cleveland for her party. Meghan, Katie and Sarah went with us. I was thrilled to have all three granddaughters together. That doesn't happen nearly enough!
Ron and I are enjoying a week at Myrtle Beach. Our goals for the week are sun, sand, golf and to eat our weight in seafood. We arrived on Sunday and had dinner at our favorite seafood place in Calabash. Monday found us walking the beach and we went to a condo presentation, we aren't buying but wanted the free show tickets they were offering. Last night we had dinner at Greg Norman's Australian Grille. There was one waiter whose entire job was keeping water glasses filled. A water waiter!! The menu was a littlepricey but the food was delish! This morning we found a coupon for that restaurant for buy one entree get one free. Doesn't that just about figure? We may have to go back again! Today Ron golfed and I spent a few hours on the beach. The sunshine was heavenly! Tonight we returned to our favorite Calabash restaurant. Did I mention eating our weight in seafood?? We are well on our way. I haven't taken any pictures...that is strange for me. I miss my two angels!
It has been kind of a busy week around here. We got estimates for a security system for the house and an awning for the deck. The refrigerator repair guy will be here tomorrow - thank heavens! Now we won't have to listen to the high pitched whine at all hours of the day and night. Sarah and Katie were here overnight on Thursday. It was Sarah's first sleepover! She did fine. She is still feeling a little under the weather from her croup but it didn't seem to slow her down much. Here are a few pictures from this month. We had a nice sunny afternoon on the deck. The sun was so bright that Sarah wouldn't look up at me. She really enjoys her vintage toys. That bike was Uncle Eric's! Here she is playing with her Mom's dollhouse: Katie had photos done at her dance school. We can't wait for the recital in May!
Poor Sarah. She woke up at midnight last night, barking like a dog. She seemed to be having a real hard time breathing and scared her parents enough that they hauled her off to the emergency room. They gave her a shot of steroids and did an x-ray of her larynx, told them it was croup and sent her home. She is much better tonight, still coughing - but coughing is good, barking is bad. When Eric was a wee one he had croup. We called our doctor in the middle of the night and he prescribed whiskey - a teaspoon for Eric and a shot for each of his parents. It worked for all three of us. Sarah got a shot of steroids, but I'll just bet that given the choice she and her parents would have chosen the whiskey!
Lived and worked in Northern Virginia for 36 years. I am now a retired school secretary living in Western PA. I love cross stitch, quilting, golf, boating but most of all I love being a grandma.
